1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are between you and [legal name] (“we”, “us”), the makers of O’Budget. By downloading or using the O’Budget app, or using this website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use O’Budget.
2. What O’Budget does
O’Budget helps you record what you spend, sort it into categories and keep each category to a monthly budget. You can record expenses yourself, and if you allow it, the app also reads the transaction texts that MTN Mobile Money and Ecobank send to your phone and records those for you. It works only from what you enter and those messages.
It doesn’t connect to your MoMo or bank account and can’t send, receive or move money. O’Budget will never ask for your PIN. If anything claiming to be O’Budget does, don’t give it.

4. Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use O’Budget on phones you own or control, for your own budgeting. You agree not to:
- copy, resell or redistribute the app
- reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to
- remove our name, logo or notices from it
- use it to break the law or to track someone else’s money without their permission
5. Accuracy
When O’Budget reads messages automatically, it depends on their wording, and banks and mobile money providers change their message formats from time to time. The app may occasionally misread a message or miss one. Categories and cash-out splits are only as accurate as the choices you make.
Treat O’Budget’s figures as a helpful guide, not an official record. For anything important, such as disputes, taxes or loans, rely on the statements from MTN or your bank.
6. Not financial advice
O’Budget shows you where your money has gone and what is left in your budget. It doesn’t give financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing in the app or on this website should be taken as advice. Decisions about your money are yours.
7. Your data and backups
Everything O’Budget records stays on your phone, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We never have a copy, so we can’t recover your data if your phone is lost, reset or broken, or if you uninstall the app.
Making backups is your responsibility. We recommend backing up regularly to a folder you trust.
8. Other companies
The names and logos of MTN, MTN Mobile Money, MoMo, Ecobank and the other networks and banks shown on our website are trademarks of their owners. O’Budget isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. We show their names and logos only to say whose transaction messages the app can read.
Today the app reads messages from MTN Mobile Money and Ecobank. Networks and banks marked “Soon” are ones we plan to support. Until then, the app doesn’t read their messages, and we can’t promise when support will arrive.

Downloading O’Budget through Google Play is also subject to Google Play’s terms.
9. Our intellectual property
The O’Budget app, name, logo, website and their content belong to us. These terms don’t give you any rights to them beyond using the app and website as described here.
10. Updates and availability
We may update O’Budget to add features, fix problems or keep up with message format changes. Some updates may be needed for the app to keep working. We may also stop supporting older versions of Android, or stop offering O’Budget altogether. If we do, the app will keep the data already on your phone.
11. No guarantees
We work hard to make O’Budget reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.
12. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential losses, for decisions you make based on the app’s figures, or for data lost from your phone. If we are found responsible for any loss, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for O’Budget in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can’t be limited by law.
13. Ending these terms
You can stop using O’Budget at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms. The sections on accuracy, data, liability and governing law continue to apply after that.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana will handle any dispute about them.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will also mention them in the app’s release notes. If you keep using O’Budget after a change, you accept the updated terms.
